From whatever dmx outputting device you use simply send the dmx signal to the decoder.ĭepending on what tape you're using, and if it's pixel tape or not, the PSU and decoder will vary, but that's the basic way it works on the physical side of things. With tape you have a dmx decoder and a separate PSU for the tape.

Presumably when talking about led strips you mean using led tape, rather than a led batten type fixture (e.g. LED strips are controlled via dmx, and require either an artnet node or a usb-dmx device (artnet is preferred for various reasons and more recent versions of resolume don't support usb-dmx). An LED panel (or video wall) is essentially the same as a projector or a normal computer screen. So the two things you mention, led strips and led panels, despite the similar names are dealt with completely differently.
